MARTYR

MARTYR is een gevestigde naam binnen de Nederlandse heavy metalscene. Sinds de jaren ‘80 brengen zij krachtige riffs, virtuoze solo’s en energieke optredens die het publiek telkens weten te verrassen. Hun combinatie van klassieke metal en moderne invloeden maakt hen geliefd bij zowel oude als nieuwe generaties metalheads. MARTYR stond op diverse grote festivals en blijft onvermoeibaar doorgaan – harder dan ooit.
During the five years that Martyr was alive and kicking (1982‐1987) the band released two albums that are considered cult in the metal scene today. ‘For The Universe’ (1985) and ‘Darkness At Time’s Edge’ (1986) are classic metal, a delight for those who love strong melodies, speedy riffs and a high level of technicality.
In those years Martyr appeared on compilation albums from Roadrunner and Metal Blade, was voted Holland’s best new metal band in Aardschok magazine, has toured with several international acts and appeared on Sky Channel’s Monsters Of Rock.
Martyr disbanded in 1987 but reunited in 2001 to play the Heavy Metal Maniacs festival. Four years later the band revived almost the complete 1982 line up to play the Headbangers Open Air and Keep It True festivals. The flame started burning again and the band have con-tinued to play live ever since. December 2008 MARTYR supported US Shock Rockers Lizzy Borden on their European tour. In 2009 and 2010 MARTYR hit the European stages sup-porting great acts like Flotsam & Jetsam , Vicious Rumors, Jaguar, Evergrey.
In 2009 the first new Martyr record in almost 25 years was released. That’s when the new EP ‘Fear’ was coupled with a re‐release of the classic ‘For The Universe’ album as a double digipack entitled ‘Fear The Universe’ on Rusty Cage Records (RCR0017).
In 2010 and 2011 Martyr re‐entered the studio between the live shows, working on the successor for ‘Fear’.
A complete new album entitled “Circle Of 8” was released by Metal Blade Records in November 2011 world‐ wide and has proven to be a significant impulse in Martyr’s revival after it’s release. With 30 years of MARTYR (with a big celebration in their home town Utrecht – Tivoli) and 30 years of Dutch Steel signed with Metal Blade again : “The Clan Is Back Home and stronger than ever…..”
And the band proves it again in 2015 and 2016 with new national and international tours and with the new and heavy album ‘You Are Next” released by Into The Limelight Records in cooperation with Pure Steel Promotions and Soulfood distribution to be unstoppable.
More headline shows , festivals and support tours followed where the always hard working band coquered a bigger audience. Especially noticed also in Japan, where MARTYR toured Sept – Oct 2017. This resulted in a special release on Edge Trax Records and a tour in the land of the Rising Sun. In 2017 MARTYR continues promoting “You Are Next” , celebrating it’s 35 years anniversary headlining the Heavy Metal Maniacs Festival. Also the band participated in special projects like the “ANA – Metal for Charity” project and “Breaking The Chains.”
In 2018 the band shows to be unstoppable. With a new line-up and tours through the Netherlands, Belgium , Poland and Germany at hand and a 2nd and 3rd tour in Japan in February 2019 and February 2020, while meanwhle the band signed a new record deal with Pt78 records for 2 albums !
A Live In Japan album is released May 31 2019 which captures the MARTYR eXperience at it’s finest. This release also resulted in an official Japanese release at Rock Stakk Records Japan and a double white vinyl release January 2020 on both labels.
After multiple European shows and after the return of the band to Japan in February 2020, the pandemic hit the world. During the pandemic however MARTYR remained still busy and was able to finish the long awaited and highly appreciated new album called “Planet Metalhead” which was released February 2022 and chosen album of the year (or among top lists) by multiple magazines. In between the band was also able to still perform some live shows, do live streams , release 3 singles and mainly paved the way to get “Planet Metalhead” a worldwide CD release on 5 different labels in China, Japan, South America, USA and Europe. The album is also released on multiple vinyl versions including splatter and had a very quick re-release (Feb 2023) on green vinyl by new label Rock Of Angels Records where MARTYR signed a new worldwide deal late 2022.
Continuing touring “Planet Metalhead” in 2022 and 2023 in Europe and working on a new album for ROAR makes that MARTYR is going stronger than ever and ready to to keep its unique mark firmly in the international metal scene!

Sons of Node
Genre: Progressive Rock / Alternative

Sons of Node brengt een frisse wind in de progressieve rockscene met hun unieke mix van stevige gitaren, dromerige melodieën en gelaagde composities. De band weet met elk optreden een sfeer neer te zetten die zowel meeslepend als krachtig is. Sons of Node is niet bang om te experimenteren en spreekt daarmee een breed publiek aan.
BIO:
Sons of Node is een driekoppige sludge formatie uit Utrecht. Sons of node gaat over smerige en dissonante riffs, gecombineerd met een basgeluid zo groot en harig als een mammoet. Deze worden ondersteund door drums die binnenkomen als een baksteen in je gezicht. Alle drie de harige rotzakken toppen het af met hun vocalen, elk met een eigen stijl en geluid. Juni 2022 brachten ze hun debut album DEADLOCK uit, die beslist de groei van de band liet zien na hun EP Manicure uit 2018. Op het moment werkt Sons of Node aan hun tweede full length album, die in 2026 zal verschijnen. Sons of Node’s geluid zal je misschien doen denken aan bands als Mastodon & Kylesa.
Sons of Node is a three piece sludgy band based in Utrecht, The Netherlands. Foul & dissonant riffage combined with a bass sound as huge as a mammoth, backed by massive “brick in your face” drums is what they’re all about. All three of the hairy bastards top it off with their vocals, each one of them with their own style and sound. June 2022 they released their debut full length record DEADLOCK which really showed the growth of the band after their 2018 EP Manicure. At the moment they’re working on their second album, which will be released in 2026. Sons of Node’s sound might remind you of bands like Mastodon & Kylesa.

Deaf Förever
Genre: Heavy Metal Tribute

Deaf Forever is een eerbetoon aan de grootheden van de heavy metal. Met loeiharde covers, authentiek geluid en een flinke dosis podiumpresentatie brengen zij een hommage aan Motörhead. Perfect voor festivals, rockcafés en events waar het dak eraf mag.
Alle klassiekers van Motörhead in een verpletterende liveshow, gespeeld door leden van Rompeprop, Violation of Trust, Offerblok en The Mad Cows.
Het Brabantse Deaf Förever put dankbaar uit het 45-jarige oeuvre van Motörhead. Net als hun grote voorbeeld het liefst op hoog volume, met genoeg vloeibare versnaperingen binnen handbereik en voor een publiek dat met één arm in de lucht headbangend meeschreeuwt.
Aanvankelijk komt dit luidruchtige vijftal bij elkaar voor een eenmalig festivaloptreden. Van de 7.000 argeloze aanwezigen vlucht een deel door gebrekkige gehoorbescherming in paniek weg, zo ver mogelijk van het podium. In de wereld van Deaf Förever is dat het grootste compliment.
De overweldigende publieksreactie smaakt dan ook naar meer. Want zoals het wijlen godfather of heavy metalLemmy betaamde, zijn ook deze supersonische smeerpijpen niet vies van een lekker smerig feestje op én voor het podium. Biertje, lawaai, beetje zweten, dat werk. En dus wordt Deaf Förever een blijvertje in hun agenda’s.
Bij elkaar opgeteld hebben deze gasten (ondanks hun boeventronies stiekem best lieve gasten) zo’n 150 jaar podiumervaring. In roemruchte gezelschappen als Rompeprop, Violation Of Trust, Hardsell, Mad Cows, Buckshot en Offerblok hebben ze menig podium besmeurd met bloed (al dan niet met een hoog octaangehalte), rock& rollzweet en er zal hier en daar ook best een traantje zijn gelaten.
Deaf Förever heeft inmiddels de nodige podia in binnen- en buitenland bezoedeld en de aanwezigen voor doof achtergelaten. Niet gek ook, want als je Motörhead ooit live hebt gezien weet je dat die oude en nieuwe klassiekers je omverblazen. Laat dat nu precies zijn waar Deaf Förever in grossiert.
Al in 1986 blaft Lemmy het de wereld toe in het nummer Deaf Forever: “All men are equal when their memory fades”. Mede dankzij Deaf Förever vervaagt de herinnering aan Lemmy in ieder geval niet. Sterker nog, hij wordt met de dag luidruchtiger.
